Is it possible to use Powerpoint PPS (Powerpoint Show) files in learning objects - Formalms isn't allowing upload of them or is it possible to use the PPXT file within the brower window as opposed to the file downloading ?

Thanks for your help with this.

Hi Neal,

actually you can upload anything, including pps or pptx or whatever. You need to allow them under the advanced settings, where you find a "whitelist" box. You have to include the file extensions you need.

However, any file will always have to be downloaded by the user.

What you're asking for can be obtained in 2 ways:
- the more professional one => you turn your presentations into a scorm package, with full reporting, stats, sequencing, interactivity and so on
- or, the quick and dirty one => you embed them into a web page

If you opt for the second way, upload the ppt into Google Presentations or any similar service. Make them "unlisted" so nobody will stumble upon them by hazard.
Copy the embed code and insert it into an HTML page learning object into your LMS. The presentation will be displayed within the browser window.

Thanks Max - I've found that you saving it as an MP4 in Powerpoint & then uploading that works the best.

I'm struggling to find the Advanced / Whitelist settings as well
